A. Information You Provide

  • Email address (for account creation)

  • Username or display name

  • Login credentials via social providers (Apple, Google, etc.)

  • User-submitted photos/images of fish

  • Parental consent (assumed for users under 18)

We do not collect:

  • Full legal names

  • Phone numbers

  • Dates of birth

B. Automatically Collected Information Location Data

  • Exact GPS location associated with fish submissions

  • Location access is optional and permission-based

  • Location data is stored permanently unless deleted by the user

Location data is used for:

  • Regional scoring context

  • Fisheries science and research

  • Aggregated environmental analysis

Device & Usage Data

We may collect:

  • Device identifiers

  • App usage statistics

  • Crash and error reports

  • Performance diagnostics

This data is used strictly to improve stability, performance, and reliability.

3. Images, Metadata & AI Processing

  • Submitted images may include background elements, including people

  • FishScore does not attempt to identify individuals

  • Images may contain metadata (such as EXIF data), depending on device settings

All images are processed using artificial intelligence to:

  • Estimate fish length

  • Generate FishScore values

  • Improve and train AI models

Use of the App requires consent to AI processing and training.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide fish measurement and scoring

  • Display leaderboards and engagement features

  • Improve AI and computer vision models

  • Conduct fisheries science, conservation, and research

  • Support partnerships with government agencies and research institutions

  • Display user-submitted content within the App

  • Market and promote FishScore

  • Maintain app functionality and security

5. Data Sharing & Disclosure

A. Research & Government Partners

  • Fisheries management authorities

  • Conservation organizations

All shared data is:

  • Anonymized or de-identified

  • Aggregated where appropriate

C. Advertising

  • FishScore displays ads using Google AdMob

  • Ads are not personalized

  • We do not engage in cross-app tracking

  • App Tracking Transparency (ATT) consent is not required under current ad configuration

6. Data Retention

  • User content and data are retained indefinitely unless deleted by the user

  • Deleted content may persist in:

    • Backups

    • Anonymized or aggregated datasets

    • Research archives required for scientific integrity

  • Backups are retained for disaster recovery and security purposes

7. User Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data

  • Request correction of inaccurate data

  • Request deletion of your data

  • Request information about how your data is used

  • The App is intended for users 13 years and older

  • Parental consent is assumed for minors

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no system is 100% secure.

10. International Users

FishScore is available worldwide. By using the App, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
